Painting is an art that can leave you in an eternal bliss by the kind of experience it gives you. When you paint your thoughts on a piece of paper, you carve out your imagination on paper thus leaving you with satiety and contentment. Many people feel that to paint with watercolor they have to be good painters but it is not so. Anyone who has the flair for creativity can become a good painter.
All you need is a paper, some water colors and your own creativity. With a few tips on how to hold a paintbrush, how to paint in different ways, how to give a shape to your imaginations, you can be a master with watercolors. Here are some basic tips to paint in water color.
1.) One of the very basic tips to paint in water color would be to first draw the sketch on a piece of paper with your pencil. Pencil will enable you to draw lighter which would be easy to erase later on. It is easier to paint when you already have a rough sketch on the paper as you know the boundaries for your brush. Defining boundaries for the brush is very important for painting as certainly a painting looks best if it’s clean and not messy. Sketching first will help you provide the neatness to your painting, which can be further accentuated by erasing the pencil lines once your painting has been completely dried.
2.) Another important tip for painting in water color would be to keep two separate water bowls for painting; one would be used for lighter shades and also for washing the brush while the other one should be specifically for darker colors including black. Most of the people face a problem while using black color along with lighter shades as the colors tend to smudge because of the water that gets dirtier because of the darker shades. Thus it is better to use two separate bowls of water for painting purpose.
3.) It has also been seen that many people find it difficult to paint trees and such structures which require twin side painting. For instance, for people who are right handed, it would be easier for them to paint the ride side of the branches as compared to the left branches of the tree. In such cases, it is better to flip you page upside down and then paint the left branch of the tree easily with your right hand.
4.) For painting, remember to keep it simple. For instance, if you require human figures in your painting, you can simply paint their structures and leave out on their facial details and other things such as their feet while simply painting the grass and depicting their legs on the grass.
It is always a good option to keep a towel handy as you can also mute the color by blotting the paper with a damp towel and also keep your hands clean which can otherwise smudge your painting.
